COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Semyon Varlamov stopped 35 shots for his 39th career shutout, leading the New York Islanders to a 2-0 win Saturday night for their second straight victory and first on the road.Kyle Palmieri and Matt Martin scored for New York in Varlamov first win of the season.Spencer Martin had 31 saves for Columbus, which has lost three straight games and their last two at home. The Blue Jackets have been shut out twice in their first six home games. It was an emotional return to the sky for a South Florida pilot, more than a year after he suffered a health scare behind the wheel.Cameras captured Kenneth Allen piloting a single-engine Cessna 208 this weekend.“Engine looks good,” he said.They’re words he has repeated a million times, but Allen said preparing to fly is different now.“It’s like a ton of bricks fell off my shoulders. A retired Miami-Dade Police officer faced a judge a day after a 16-hour SWAT standoff in a Southwest Miami-Dade neighborhood ended with her being taken away in handcuffs.Former MDPD Lt. Troopers in Davie made a PIT stop after chasing suspected car crooks along Interstate 595.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the agency received a “be on the lookout” from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stolen Range Rover traveling east on Alligator Alley, Saturday afternoon.Authorities determined the Range Rover was abandoned near Mile Marker 30 on I-75 in Broward County.
